1969 Dodge Coronet R/T Convertible Restoration Project
Here is another major restoration project for us. It is a 1970 Coronet R/T convertible 440-4 with a
pistol grip 4-speed. To make it even more rare is that it is a real air grabber with a 4:10 dana rear end.
Only 16 440-4 convertibles with a 4-speed were made and only 2 came with an air grabber and only 3 came with a
4:10 dana and no other one was known to have been made in this color, a true one of one. Restoration
had been started years ago but the work that was done was of poor quality. It is a numbers
matching car, both motor and transmission. It came with a build sheet and
Galen documentation. It is a total basket case given to us with a heap of parts but hey, for a car like this,
no job is too big. The color is dark tan metallic (T6) with black interior, black top and a black bumble bee
stripe.

2/12/2009 - Update: Taking it all apart
6/4/2009 - Update: Blasted, Primed, New Floor, engine completed (Dyno 505hp, 503 ft-lbs)
9/2/2009 - Update: Progress continues on the body. There was a lot of repair that had to
be done to get this car where it needs to be. But we are slowly getting it there.
1/10/2011 - Update: It has been a while since we updated the progress on this car, but it
continues to move forward. Paint and body is done, and assembly has started. It shouldn't be too much longer
before she is back on the road again.
1/31/2011 - Update: We continue to make progress getting this peach back together in perfect
condition. We are making a hard push to get this car to Mopars at the Strip in April. Should be doable....
3/1/3011 - Update: We are very close and should have it ready for the show
COMPLETED!!!!!! - Watch the front page of the site, we have pictures from the Mopars At The Strip
show, where it scored very well.
